Editing and publishing a recorded podcast episode

Deliverables

Every engagement runs on a fixed monthly cadence, from guest outreach to final export.

  • 4 to 8 episodes produced every month
  • 16 to 32 short clips cut every month
  • 4 to 8 long-form clips every month

Production quality standards

  • Clean, consistent audio with no room echo or background hum, and balanced levels between host and guest
  • Tight editing that removes dead air without sounding choppy, plus a scripted, consistent intro and outro
  • Accurate, timestamped show notes on every episode

Guest research & booking

Guests are sourced against your show's ideal-client profile, not general topical fit, we research who overlaps with the accounts you want listening, then handle outreach and scheduling so booking never becomes the bottleneck. Full method on the guest research and booking page.

Targeting & research

  • Target lists run 20 to 30 names, built around the show's exact ideal-customer profile rather than general topical fit
  • Each prospect gets roughly 10 minutes of research, recent talks, LinkedIn activity, articles, and company news, before any outreach goes out

Outreach & booking

  • Invites are personalized per contact (subject line, opening reference, topic angle) and sent with a scheduling link embedded, so booking is a single email, not a back-and-forth thread
  • One follow-up at 5 to 7 business days, two touches maximum, well-personalized campaigns land 30 to 50% acceptance

Episode editing

Raw recordings are cut for pacing, noise, and clarity inside the same production cycle that produces the monthly shorts and clips, so editing isn't a separate queue that delays release. Details on the episode editing page.

The edit removes dead air without sounding choppy, balances levels between host and guest, clears room echo and background hum, and drops in a scripted, consistent intro and outro before timestamped show notes go out with the episode.

Show launch

Launching a new feed is scoped separately from ongoing production, cover art, trailer, and the first batch of episodes are built before the first public release, rather than folded into a standard monthly cycle. See show launch for what that first batch covers.

A typical 90-day launch

  • Days 1–14, Strategy & Positioning: show name, artwork, and a 20+ name target-guest list
  • Days 15–30, Setup & First Bookings: technical setup live, 4 to 6 guests booked, 1 to 2 episodes recorded
  • Days 31–60, Launch & Rhythm: live across platforms with multi-channel content at a steady cadence
  • Days 61–90, Compound & Measure: back catalog functioning as a pre-sales asset, early pipeline conversations underway

Short-form clips

Each episode also becomes a blog post and a newsletter draft, and every one of the 16 to 32 monthly shorts is cut with a second channel in mind, we turn episodes into YouTube content so one recording session produces a full week of assets. Cutting approach is on the short-form clips page.

Source: the recording session

A single structured, rapid-fire interview session yields 20 to 30 clippable moments, recorded from an authentic setting rather than a staged office backdrop.

Multiply: camera & editing

Multiple simultaneous camera angles turn one recording into dozens of distinct video pieces, each angle treated as its own asset, with trending audio, captions, and hooks applied on top. Captions are non-negotiable: as many as 85% of mobile video is watched without sound, and a hook has to land in the first two seconds or the clip loses the viewer.

Should we produce in-house or outsource?

In-house production runs roughly 9 to 15 labor hours per episode across research, booking, recording, editing, and repurposing, at a loaded marketing-manager rate, that's around $780 per 12-hour episode. Below about 4 episodes a month, outsourcing tends to be cheaper on top of freeing up those hours; above that, the two options run close to even on cash cost alone.

Is there a minimum number of episodes per month?

Engagements are built around 4 to 8 produced episodes a month; the exact number is set at kickoff based on how much guest inventory your niche supports.

Do you handle guest booking, or just editing?

Both, guest research and booking is included from the first month, not sold as a separate add-on.
