B2B podcast marketing, built around the guests you actually want.

Guest research, booking, and positioning built around the clients you actually want in the room, not general audience growth. See how podcast marketing works, then book a strategy call.

Choosing which guests to invite onto a podcast

Who it's for

AshMedia works with six kinds of B2B operators who already have something worth saying on a mic: consultants, advisors, tech and SaaS companies, founders, executives, and DTC brands.

The audience already exists: Edison Research found that 83% of senior executives listen to at least one podcast in a typical week, and 53% of weekly podcast listeners take part in purchase decisions at work. The show doesn't need to build a listener base from zero, it needs to reach the right few hundred of them.

What's included

Every engagement runs on a fixed monthly cadence, produced end to end.

  • 4 to 8 episodes produced every month
  • 4 to 8 long-form clips cut every month
  • 16 to 32 short clips cut every month
  • An 800 to 1,500 word SEO blog post from every episode
  • A 300 to 500 word newsletter issue from every episode
  • 2 to 4 social posts with quote graphics per episode

Every episode is routed through episode production, from guest booking to final cut. Launching a brand-new show first? See our podcast launch process.

Audience growth strategy

Guests are booked against the audience segments most likely to overlap with your buyer, not raw download counts, so your guest list doubles as your prospect list. Read the full podcast growth strategy for how that targeting is built before a single invite goes out.

Building the guest list

  • Guest lists run 20 to 30 names, built around the exact ideal-customer profile the show is targeting
  • Each prospect gets roughly 10 minutes of research, recent talks, LinkedIn activity, articles, and company announcements, before outreach starts
  • A host needs at least 4 publishable episodes recorded before pitching more notable guests, so early credibility isn't damaged by pitching too soon

Full booking mechanics, outreach templates, and vetting on the guest booking page.

Outreach & follow-up cadence

  • Each invite is personalized, subject line, opening reference to the prospect's actual work, and topic angle, which takes a minimum of 5 minutes per contact
  • Invitations go out as a direct email with a scheduling link embedded, so booking doesn't require back-and-forth
  • One follow-up at 5 to 7 business days, two touches maximum; well-personalized campaigns see 30 to 50% acceptance

Content positioning strategy

Positioning runs on a single principle: niche density beats reach. A show built around a specific job title, industry, and company size, describable in one sentence, outperforms a broad one built around "business growth" in general. See the podcast growth breakdown for how that angle gets set at kickoff.

The one-sentence positioning test

Every show idea gets tested against one question: would the ideal subscriber recognize the description as "about my exact job"? A show interviewing security heads specifically about breach decisions passes; a show titled something like "Business Growth Insights" doesn't.

What positioning optimizes for

Three goals count: opening sales conversations (pipeline), shortening sales cycles by demonstrating expertise (authority), and deepening ties with partners and referral sources (relationships). Reach for its own sake is explicitly not one of them, a show doesn't need 50,000 listeners, it needs the right few hundred.

Episode repurposing strategy

Every recorded conversation is cut into a blog post, a newsletter issue, short clips, and, through the YouTube growth service, a video upload, so one recording session seeds a full week of distribution instead of a single feed. Full detail lives on the content repurposing page.

What one episode becomes

  • The full episode (audio + video, 30 to 60 minutes)
  • 4 to 8 long-form clips (5 to 15 minutes), each built as a self-contained argument that makes sense without the rest of the episode
  • 16 to 32 short-form vertical clips (30 to 90 seconds), captioned by default since as many as 85% of mobile video is watched without sound
  • An 800 to 1,500 word SEO blog post and a 300 to 500 word newsletter issue, written as their own pieces rather than a pasted transcript

Where it gets distributed

Assets are pushed across LinkedIn, YouTube and YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, email, X, and organic search, with specific past episodes also hand-picked and sent to prospects mid-sales-conversation when they address an objection that episode already covers.

Pricing

Starting price; full engagements range $1,500 to $8,000 a month depending on scope. Client time commitment runs about two hours a month.

Is there a minimum contract?

No. Engagements are month-to-month with no lock-in, though most clients stay at least six months because guest networks take a few cycles to compound.

What does "ideal-client targeting" actually mean?

Before we book a single guest, we map the attributes of the accounts you close best, then only pursue guests whose audience or network overlaps with that profile.

How is this different from running the podcast in-house?

In-house production runs 9 to 15 labor hours per episode across research, booking, recording, editing, and repurposing, roughly $780 in loaded salary per 12-hour episode. Most teams break even against an agency retainer around 4 episodes a month; below that, outsourcing is typically cheaper on top of freeing up the hours.

Do you offer anything beyond podcast marketing?

Yes, clients who want the content skill built internally instead of run externally use our content coaching program.
